Thophini (лат.) — триба певчих цикад из подсемейства Cicadinae. Известно 2 рода. Австралия[2]
Описание
Крупные певчие цикады. Триба включает вид Thopha saccata, крупнейшую цикаду Австралии и самое громкое насекомое в мире[3]. Размах крыльев достигает 15 см, а длина тела около 5 см[4]. Тимбальные крышки полностью скрывают тимбальные органы, сильно развитые и мешковидные, простирающиеся примерно до половины длины брюшка; оперкулы маленькие, не достигающие основания метастернума; передние и задние крылья прозрачные; боковой край переднеспинки расширенный[2].
Систематика
Включает 2 рода и 7 видов. Таксон был впервые выделен в 1904 году[1], а его валидность в ранге трибы подтверждена в результате ревизии певчих цикад австралийским энтомологом Maxwell Sydney Moulds и его коллегами[2]. В 2021 году классификация была дополнена[5].
